Founded by Stephanie Reasoner, Household Help grew from a simple but powerful idea: that home care is about more than cleaning. It’s about lightening the load, creating calm, and supporting households through full, demanding lives.
We provide care-based home support that goes beyond checklists — from cleaning and organization to everyday household help — completed within the time booked and tailored to your priorities.

Our Origin Story
Before the pandemic reshaped daily life, Stephanie moved from her hometown of Potsdam, New York to Ottawa to begin a new chapter with her husband. She was finishing her degree, running a small cleaning business, and preparing to become a mother.
Her daughter, Madeleine, was born in February 2020. Just weeks later, borders closed, routines disappeared, and nearly every form of in-person support vanished. Like so many new parents, she found herself navigating early motherhood without a village — supported emotionally from afar, but carrying the full physical weight of home care alone.
During that time, she often thought: I wish I could hire my village.
Years later, as she returned to school to study psychology and support herself and her daughter, she found her way back to cleaning homes. What surprised her was how meaningful the work felt. Caring for households, supporting families, and creating calm, functional spaces felt deeply healing — not just for her clients, but for her.
The Household Help Company grew from that realization: that home care is not just about tasks, but about support. About lightening the load. About offering the kind of help many of us wish we had when we needed it most.
